The Governing Council appoints Director of the new University Training Center of the National Police

José García Molina has held the position of deputy general director of Logistics and Innovation from March 2019 until his retirement and has developed his professional career in different specialties including training in the National Police

The approval of the Statutes of the Center, approved on August 1 by the Council of Ministers, will allow the signing of the corresponding adscription agreement with the University of Salamanca for the beginning of the Degree studies in Police Studies

The Governing Council of the University Training Centre of the National Police, following a meeting chaired by the Director-General of the Police, Francisco Pardo Piqueras, has appointed as director of the autonomous body the retired Chief Commissioner José García Molina. García Molina has held the position of deputy general director of Logistics and Innovation since March 2019 and has developed his professional career in different specialties, including training in the National Police. The approval of the statutes of the University Center, approved on August 1 by the Council of Ministers, will allow the signing of the corresponding adscription agreement with the University of Salamanca for the beginning of the Degree studies in Police Studies.

Following the establishment of the Governing Council of the National Police Training University Centre, as the superior collegiate governing body, following a meeting chaired by the head of the General Directorate of the Police, Francisco Pardo Piqueras, he appointed Chief Commissioner José García Molina as director of the University Centre.

Accredited experience in the field of management

José García Molina, who joined the National Police in 1984, has held until his retirement the post of assistant general director of Logistics and Innovation since March 2019, has developed his professional career in the specialties of citizen security, information and in the field of training and improvement, having been head of the Training and Improvement Division and director of the National Police School, where the University Training Center of the National Police will have its headquarters.

Although the centre will have its main headquarters in the National Police School, in the city of Ávila, it will have other offices to provide teaching leading to official university degrees, promote the acquisition of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the areas of interest of the National Police, and define and develop lines of investigation that are considered of interest to the National Police. In addition, the University Centre will collaborate, when so determined, with other entities and bodies of teaching and research, public or private.

Digital competences, cybercrime and financial crime

Among other degrees, the Master’s Degree in Security and Police Function will be taught with the aim of training future inspectors in matters of command and in digital skills, cybercrime and financial crime, as well as sufficient linguistic skills to promote international police activity.
