Much more than a logo
El logo of the University Training Center of the National Police is the result of an in-depth analysis of the most important symbols in the field of education and knowledge, throughout history, as well as the appreciation of the responsibility of the National Police to stimulate the learning and critical thinking of its members.
The element on which the central design revolves is the temple that symbolizes the Academy of Plato, considered the first university in the world and that refers to the creation of this first University Center. The temple is based on a book that represents learning and culture, elements that can be considered as the foundation of any institution. An idea that is reinforced by the Latin phrase that the book shows: “Dediscit Animus Sero Quod Didicit” (We hardly forget what we learned so carefully).
A detail that perhaps goes unnoticed is the “S” shape of the two bouquets of laurel that come to delineate the “that” of wisdom, a quality that is attributed to those who have the necessary knowledge to act prudently and sensibly, all of them virtues necessary to belong to our institution.
The star of the National Police School reigns at the top of the logo, serving as a guide and light to all students on the road to learning. The wings and the sword represent the Guardian Angel who protects every day all the national police. The sword, which recalls in its design lines the raffling of the emblem plate, has wanted to represent, along with the wings and the Polar Star, in golden color, providing the necessary brightness and strength to stand out from the rest for being these elements proper to our institution.
This logo is not only the image that represents the University Training Center of the National Police, but, through its great symbolic burden, it stands as the true engine of contribution of the necessary brand identity to the new autonomous body.
