DEGREE IN POLICE STUDIES
In the academic year 2022-23 at the University Training Center of the National Police, attached to USAL, once the verification process has been passed by ACSUCYL and the Council of Universities, it gives this Degree in order to meet the professional training requirements of the police organization and the security demands of citizens. They must therefore have the necessary competences to enable them to provide efficient answers to real problems that arise in their daily obligations, among which are the investigation and prosecution of crimes, care work, humanitarian services and the maintenance of public order and citizen security.
The studies that mainly cover subjects in the branch of social and legal sciences , as well as in the branch of Engineering and Architecture , structured for 4 years (240 ECTS):

Profile of entry:
The entry profile is delimited by the current statutory regulations of the National Police and that of university education, limited to police professionals with the category of “Police Officer”.
Requirements to be met by the applicant before the end of the registration period:
- Hold the rank of Police Officer.
- Be in possession of the certification of the equivalence of his appointment as Police Officer to that of Superior Technician regulated in Order EFP/805/2023 , of 17 July, which establishes the equivalence of the category of Police Officer of the basic scale of the National Police Force to the title of Superior Technician corresponding to professional training.
- To be in one of the following administrative situations: active service, special services, leave of absence due to family care, leave of absence due to family grouping, leave of absence due to gender-based violence or leave of absence due to terrorist violence.
- Not having completed official university studies of degree, bachelor, engineering, architecture or equivalent
- Missing five years or more to reach the retirement age, counted from the date of presentation of instances for the corresponding convocation of the first course of Degree.
Once the requirements in each of the applications have been verified, the selection will be made following the order of annual step published through the corresponding ministerial order approving the National Police’s step by step relationship, with regard to the category of Police Officer, until the total number of places called is reached.
The people admitted to the first course will remain selected for their enrollment in subsequent academic courses, according to the standards of evaluation and permanence of the University of Salamanca.
